When you can’t decide between savory & sweet… make it both!

Chocolate-Dipped Freselles: Sweet-Meets-Heat

These chocolate-dipped freselles combine bold, savory flavors with rich dark chocolate for a spectacular sweet-heat experience. Customize with colorful sprinkles or your favorite toppings!

Ingredients

  • Pepperberry Foods Freselles (Mixed Pepper Sea Salt & Smoky Calabrian Pepper flavors)

  • Dark chocolate bar for melting (e.g., Ghirardelli 60% dark chocolate)

  • Sprinkles or other decorations (optional)

Equipment

  • Double boiler (or a saucepan with a metal mixing bowl)

  • Tongs

  • Whisk & spatula

  • Small bowl (optional, for easier dipping)

  • Cooling rack & wax paper

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients – Pour freselles into a bowl for easy access. Roughly chop the chocolate and place it in a metal mixing bowl.

  2. Melt the chocolate – Bring a saucepan of water to a gentle boil. Set the metal bowl on top, ensuring it doesn’t touch the water. Use a whisk to stir intermittently until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Transfer melted chocolate to a smaller bowl for easier dipping.

  3. Dip the freselles – Using tongs, dip each freselle about halfway into the chocolate, letting any excess drip off. Place on a wax paper-lined cooling rack.

  4. Decorate – While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with colorful toppings as desired.

  5. Cool & set – Ensure the freselles are spaced out to prevent sticking. Place the rack in the fridge for about 20 minutes until the chocolate firms up.

  6. Enjoy! – Once set, your chocolate-dipped freselles are ready to eat. Store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 2–3 weeks.

For fun variations, try milk or semi-sweet chocolate or toppers like crumbled, freeze-dried fruits (strawberries & raspberries) or even dried flower petals for a romantic take!
